Starting kindergarten is an exciting time for your child at Imani Montessori! We want to make sure they have a fantastic journey ahead, filled with learning and fun. Here are some important skills they will be taught to help them get off to a great start:
Self-dependence refers to the child relying solely on themselves and their own abilities, while independence refers to the child's ability to work independently while also being able to collaborate and contribute to the community.
Stories can be told verbally, using books, or while drawing pictures on paper or in sand. Real reading starts with pretend reading. When your child watches and listens to you reading they will develop language skills more quickly. Try to spend 10-15 minutes reading with your child each day.
To engage in good and effective communication with children each individual needs to offer their children full attention. That is; stop what you were doing and engage in a meaningful conversation with your child however simple the conversation is.
